A Global Internet Platform actively promoting ways to reduce global warming through modified behaviour in everybody’s day to day life.
The idea is to capture the interest of a large audience which could be interested to apply “green action” if made aware of options and simple solutions which could positively influence their lives.
“I am one of the people who run an ordinary life. I was never specifically interested in ‘global warming issues’, even though I regularilly hear about it on TV. I would like to do my part if I am made aware of ‘how’ and ‘what could be effective’. I experience the problem of not having easy, ready information, answers, practical and simple solutions of how I can implement and incorporate solutions in my day-to-day life. It is lack of relevant (end-user) information and ready simple solutions to change habits for a life based on less carbon emission.”
The Greenhouse Project should guide ordinary people to carbon reducing methods, and show ways of how everybody can contribute to a reduction of greenhouse gas emission through modified behaviour in all of our own personal, daily activities.
There are different kind of awareness- and supportive levels to carbon reduction. When I actively research into available methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as an ordinary person, I can find information provided by scientists and large organizations. Such information mostly is extremely in debt, highly intellectual and research- and background related. Google Search rarely provides obvious and specific solutions for my own day to day behaviour. Other search results show some basic ideas that could be applied by me as an end-user. Ideas like ‘take only direct flights from A to B without any stop over since airplanes use most fuel during take-off and landing’, ride an e-bike, or walk to work, or switch to LED lights in your home.
The general public has the impression that polluters are big countries like the US, Russia, China and India, or greenhouse gas emission is something that has to do with big and ‘dirty companies’ polluting the environment. Isn’t it so that in the end individual people like you and me contribute directly or indirectly through specific behaviour to greenhouse gas emissions?
The Greenhouse Project will develop ways to make it obvious and easy for all these people who do not specifically research or even really care about the topic. Individuals who contribute to global warming every day, but would contribute to a reduction of greenhouse gas if they just come across solutions to change certain patterns in their daily lives. We seek to make ordinary people aware of their own share to reduce global warming through modified behaviour. It would not matter what reason they might have to adopt such a modified behaviour: Saving money or getting a better service, product or a better quality of life or make use of new opportunities a greener environment has to offer.
The Greenhouse Project will develop ways to reach and engage ordinary people in a reduction of carbon emission and encourage and engage corporate entities to achieve this goal!
